At the meeting, which took place in the capital of the region, the acting Governor of the Vologda Region, Georgy Filimonov, and the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation, Zhang Hanhui, discussed joint projects to create a furniture cluster in the region and new production facilities in the agro-industrial complex.
According to Filimonov, China is one of the main trading partners of the Vologda region. Last year, Chinese businessmen purchased wood, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, animal feed, paper and cardboard in the region. In 2023, over 8.3 thousand tons of agricultural products worth $ 13.96 million were sent to China.
The acting governor also stressed that the countries are creating comfortable conditions for investment sites where joint production of mechanical and electronic equipment and modern mining equipment will be implemented. Projects of a furniture cluster, a cheese factory and the creation of operators in the field of bus transportation are also under development.
