The Chinese authorities intend to tighten the fight against corruption crimes

Zhang Jun made the statement at the session of the National People's Congress in Beijing. He noted that in 2023, courts across the country completed the consideration of 24 thousand cases of crimes related to the performance of official duties, including bribery.

This is a 19.9% increase compared to the previous year, the Chairman of the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China stressed. 371 cases of fugitives from justice abroad have been completed. All of them were returned to China and brought to trial.

In addition, more than 30,000 cases of fraud in the telecommunications sector were severely suppressed. Work also continued to protect the property rights of private enterprises and the legitimate rights of entrepreneurs. In 2023, 42 criminal cases related to property rights were reviewed.
