A woman from the city of Xuancheng in the eastern province of Anhui died in hospital from complications caused by H10N5 and H3N2 strains, China Central Television reports.
The 63-year-old woman showed signs of the disease at the end of November last year. She was first admitted to a hospital in Xuancheng City, and then transferred to a medical facility in the eastern province of Zhejiang. She died there on December 16.
According to the State Administration for Disease Control, everyone who came into contact with the woman has already been examined. No new cases of avian influenza have been identified.
