The launch took place on January 9, the Chinese Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation announced on its WeChat social network page.

The probe will be used to observe X-ray radiation from orbit, which causes large-scale changes in the universe. According to the corporation, it can provoke collisions of neutron stars, the rupture of celestial bodies by large black holes, and the release of high-energy particles.

The launch was the 506th in a row for carriers of the Changzheng series. The project is being implemented by China together with specialists from Germany and the European Space Agency. The purpose of the launch is to gain a more complete understanding of space processes.

The probe is equipped with the latest equipment and has two highly sensitive X-ray telescopes. It will also transmit signals to activate other optical instruments on Earth and in near-Earth space.
