The Association of Tour Operators of Russia reported that more than 105 thousand tourists from China visited Russia in January — September

Every fourth foreign tourist in Russia was a Chinese citizen, ATOR reported with reference to the data of the border service of the FSB of the Russian Federation.

According to the association, China came out on top in terms of tourist flow to Russia for the first time after the coronavirus pandemic. The country holds this position for all nine months of 2023.

More than 105 thousand Chinese have visited Russia for the purpose of tourism. According to tour operators, the bulk of all foreigners this year come to Russia for business purposes, while receiving a tourist visa.

The resumption of the group visa-free travel exchange between Russia and China was also an incentive for the growth of the tourist flow, according to ATOR. Germany took the second place in terms of tourist flow in the Russian Federation from January to September.
