The trade turnover of fish products of the Russian Federation and China increased by 75% in eight months

"The volume of fish products turnover between Russia and China for the period from January to August (8 months) 2023 reached 755 thousand tons of products with a total value of almost $ 1.6 billion. The growth in physical terms amounted to 75%, in monetary terms - 39% compared to the level of the same period in 2022," the report says.
Exports of fish products to China in January - August 2023 amounted to 716 thousand tons with a total value of $ 1.38 billion, which is almost 78.5% higher than in the same period last year. Pollock (more than 60% of the total volume), herring (about 14%), fishmeal and crabs took the leading positions in the export structure. The most "monetary" goods are crabs (more than $ 500 million) and pollock ($470 million).
The volume of imports of fish products from China in the first eight months of this year amounted to 38 thousand tons with a total value of $ 215 million, which is 23% more than in the same period a year earlier. In the structure of imports, crustaceans and shellfish account for about 25% of the total volume, frozen fish - also almost 25%, canned fish and shellfish products - 22%, the agency reports.
At the same time, the most "expensive" individual import position is sturgeon caviar (6.5 tons with a total value of $ 1.2 million, the price per ton is $194.7 thousand). The most "monetary" import position is eel (about 2 thousand tons with a total value of $25 million), writes TASS.
