"In order to improve the quality of service for applicants applying for a visa to the People's Republic of China, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in St. Petersburg will assign from August 8, 2023 to the Chinese visa center in St. Petersburg responsibility for accepting visa applications, including accepting documents, collecting biometric personal data of applicants, accepting payment (in including for urgency), issuing visas, providing consultations and other services required by the Consulate General to serve applicants," the message says.
