"After a long break, the Russian delegation, at the invitation of the Chinese side, arrived in Zhuhai (China) to hold the thirty-first session of the joint Russian-Chinese commission for cooperation in the field of fisheries. The Commission was created to implement the agreement between the Government of the USSR and the Government of the People's Republic of China on cooperation in the field of fisheries dated October 4, 1988," the message reads.
"The head of the Chinese delegation noted that Russian-Chinese relations in the field of fisheries are a priority, and therefore the visit of Russian representatives is the first among foreign delegations after the lifting of restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic," it says.
The countries will consider issues of joint protection of sturgeon and salmon in the border waters of the Amur and Ussuri rivers and proposals to restore their stocks by releasing juveniles. The parties will discuss issues on the exchange of scientific data for the regulation of fishing and the study of biological resources in rivers, which are important for border areas, RIA Novosti writes.
