Chinese President Xi Jinping planted trees in Beijing

C8PmKm XcAAkrVVChinese President Xi Jinping went to the streets of Beijing with a shovel in hands and joined the annual voluntary tree planting initiative.

Thus, he supported afforestation, which, according to him, plays a significant role in shaping the environment in China. Xi Jinping noted that such actions help to improve ecology, keep the sky blue, the earth green, and the water clean.

Let us note that the Head of the People's Republic of China joins the annual initiative of voluntary tree planting in the chinese capital every year since 2013. This campaign will be 40 years old in 2021.

Over the years, Chinese residents have made great efforts to make their country greener: the area of forests in China has grown from 12 to 23 percent, the area of urban green space - from 10 to 41 percent, the area of parkland per capita-from 3.45 square meters to 14.8 square meters.

"People should live in a green shadow, and this is what we should strive for. Let's roll up our sleeves and work harder, year after year, generation after generation" - the head of the People's Republic of China urged all residents of the country.

Throughout his career, Xi Jinping has supported numerous environmental conservation and green development campaigns.

For example, he went to Chantin five times, where he supervised the work to eliminate the drought. Today, it is one of the greenest counties in Fujian, with almost 80% of the area covered by forest.

Not far from Fujian, in the neighboring province of Zhejiang, Xi Jinping decided to close mines and cement factories, which were harmful to the environment.

"Clear waters and lush mountains are priceless assets," the Chinese president said at the time.

Earlier, "NIA-China" reported that China announces "red" hazard level due to fires.
