Remains of dinosaurs about 170 million years old have been found in China

Specialists of the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have discovered fossils of dinosaurs that lived on our planet about 170 million years ago in the south-west of China.

This was reported on Thursday by Xinhua news agency, citing local authorities.
According to him, over the past two years, Chinese scientists have found fossilized fragments of ancient reptiles in nine locations in the southwestern province of Yunnan. According to Chen Jun, deputy head of the Regional Department of Natural Resources, many remains were found after heavy rains, which greatly eroded the soil.
Paleontologists have established that all the finds belong to the Jurassic period (201-145 million years ago). According to official statistics, since 1938, more than 410 groups of fossilized dinosaur fragments have been found in the Chuxiongyi Autonomous District of Yunnan Province, where valuable paleontological discoveries were made, TASS writes.
