The official trailer of the Hainan International Film Festival was presented in China

A video posted online shows people rushing to the same destination after they learn about the opening of the screening. People of different ages and nationalities from all over the world take turns passing each other a bouquet of flowers symbolizing cultural exchanges and integration between the peoples of the world. The video ends with shots of a large movie screen against the background of the sea, which is watched by people gathered on the shore. The trailer starred several famous Chinese actors, winners of prestigious film awards, in particular Hu Jun.
According to the organizers, the Hainan International Film Festival has received a total of over 3.7 thousand applications for screenings from 116 countries. 3,050 paintings were received from abroad, which accounted for 81.1% of the total number of applications for participation.
As a result, 12 feature films, 8 documentaries and 12 short films will be selected for the main competition program. The Golden Coconut Film Festival award will be awarded in such nominations as "Best Picture", "Best Director", "Special Jury Prize", "Best Male Role", "Best Female Role", "Best Screenplay", "Best Technology", "Best Documentary" and "Best Short Film the movie".
The third Hainan International Film Festival was held on December 5-12, 2020. Films on it were not only presented in cinemas, but also shown online. During this large-scale event, the audience got acquainted with 189 films from 60 countries and regions of the world.
KMK is recognized as one of the four main film festivals in China and was held for the first time in December 2018. It was attended by such world-famous actors and directors as Jackie Chan, Nicolas Cage, Johnny Depp and Nuri Bilge Ceylan. In 2021, the event was scheduled for December 5-12, but did not take place due to anti-weed restrictions, writes TASS.
