The upcoming XX Congress of the Communist Party of China will consider amendments to the party charter

съезд The plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee) approved the draft amendments to the party charter, which will be submitted to the XX Congress of the CPC.

This is stated in a communique published on Wednesday by the Xinhua news agency following the results of the seventh plenum of the CPC Central Committee of the 19th convocation.
"A draft amendment to the CPC Charter was discussed and adopted," the document says. As stated in the communique, a total of three documents will be submitted to the XX CPC Congress for consideration: in addition to the draft amendment to the party charter, it will also consider reports on the work of the CPC Central Committee and the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the 19th convocation.
The seventh plenum of the CPC Central Committee of the 19th convocation was held in Beijing from October 9 to 12 this year. It was attended by 199 members of the Central Committee and 159 candidates for members of the CPC Central Committee. This is the last plenum of the CPC Central Committee of the 19th convocation on the eve of the XX Congress of the Communist Party of China opening on October 16.
The current Charter of the Communist Party of China was adopted in 1982. The last time amendments to this document were made during the XIX Congress of the CPC in 2017: then it included the ideas of the President of the People's Republic of China, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping on socialism with Chinese specifics in a new era, writes "TASS".
