China has resumed production of type 052D destroyers

maxresdefault1China has resumed mass production of Type 052D missile destroyers.

This was reported by the Global Times newspaper on Tuesday, citing sources.
According to them, five new ships of this type are being built at a shipyard in Dalian (northeastern Liaoning Province) and another one in Shanghai. At the moment, the Navy of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA Navy) has at least 25 type 052D destroyer ships in service.
Experts compare the Chinese 052D ships with the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers of the US Navy, but many military experts believe that American ships with similar dimensions are more powerful and have better characteristics. Thus, the Arleigh Burke's cruising range reaches 4.4 thousand nautical miles at a speed of 20 knots. For Chinese destroyers, these figures are 4 thousand miles and 15 knots. At the same time, the total displacement of the 052D is 7,500 tons against 9,700 tons of the American destroyer.
In 2022, the Chinese shipbuilding industry produced eight destroyers for the country's Navy.
The Chinese government is conducting a comprehensive modernization of the national defense and armed forces, which it plans to complete by 2035, writes TASS.
