Gas exploded in northern China

At least two people were killed and another 20 were injured.

At least two people were killed and 20 others were injured on Friday in a gas explosion in the city of Sanhe (Hebei Province, Northern China). This is stated in a statement on the website of the municipal authorities.
Earlier it was reported about ten victims. As noted in the document, to date, search and rescue operations at the scene of the emergency have been completed.
The explosion occurred on one of the shopping streets at 09:18 (04:18 Moscow time). According to preliminary data, the cause of the emergency was the detonation of cylinders with liquefied gas. 112 rescuers and 20 pieces of equipment took part in the rescue operation. Local authorities are establishing the circumstances of the emergency.
