The US Treasury Secretary urged China to take measures to end the conflict in Ukraine

ChinaChina will face consequences if it does not take measures to end the conflict in Ukraine.

This was stated by US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, speaking at the Atlantic Council of the United States on Wednesday.
"It is becoming increasingly difficult to separate economic issues from a broader understanding of national interests, including national security. The attitude of the world towards China and the willingness to go for further economic integration with it may depend on China's willingness to hear the call for decisive action against Russia," she said.
Janet Yellen said that China must respect the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, writes TASS.
"China cannot expect the world community to respect its references to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity in the future if it does not comply with these principles now when it is necessary," she added.
Janet Yellen expressed hope that Beijing will use its relations with Russia to end the conflict in Ukraine.
Recall that on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in response to a request from the leaders of the Donbass republics for help, announced a special military operation, the goals of which are the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.
