Hong Kong to reduce quarantine for incoming foreigners

756197092800726Hong Kong will reduce quarantine for arrivals from abroad to 14 days from February 5, the head of the regional administration Carrie Lam said during a press conference on Thursday.

"The duration of quarantine at the hotel will be reduced from 21 days to 14 days," Carrie Lam said. According to her, the decision is due to the short incubation period of the omicron strain.

Currently, those entering Hong Kong from more than 150 countries and regions of the world are required to observe three weeks of isolation at their own expense in a designated hotel.

Recall that entry to Hong Kong for Russians for tourist purposes is now closed.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 13,262 cases of infection with OVID-19 have been detected in the region, 213 people have died
