Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to go to the Olympics in Beijing.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that he plans to attend the opening of the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing next year.

 "I was planning to go to the opening [of the Olympics]," Putin answered the relevant question, speaking at the plenary session of the VTB Capital investment forum "Russia is calling!".

As the Chinese Foreign Ministry reported earlier, China and Russia are discussing details of Putin's possible visit to the Beijing Olympics

 Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov reported that the Russian leader received an invitation to visit the Olympic Beijing, but such a trip will be announced only after all the details have been agreed.

Let us note that the XXIV Winter Olympic Games will be held in Beijing from February 4 to 20, 2022, and the Paralympics - from March 4 to March 13, TASS reports.
