China expressed gratitude to Russia for rescuing 14 citizens from a stranded ship

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin on Thursday at a regular briefing expressed gratitude to Russia for the rescue of 14 Chinese sailors in the wreck of a container ship off the coast of Nakhodka, writes TASS.
"On November 9, a Panamanian container ship ran aground near the city of Nakhodka in Primorsky Krai in the Russian Far East due to bad weather conditions and got into a dangerous situation. There were 14 Chinese citizens on the ship," he said. According to him, having received a distress signal, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation sent a helicopter and rescuers to the scene of the emergency.
"All 14 Chinese citizens have been rescued and are safe by now. The hull of the ship was damaged, but the container ship did not sink. There are no victims. We express our gratitude to the relevant Russian agencies for the rescue operation," the diplomat added.
"The Chinese diplomatic structures operating there drew attention to the incident and took the necessary measures," the representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
The container ship Rise Shine ran aground off the coast of Nakhodka on Tuesday morning. There is a crack on the hull of the vessel, the container ship is in a stable condition. The crew of the vessel - 14 Chinese citizens were evacuated.
The vessel sails under the flag of Panama. According to open sources, its length is 101 meters, width - 19 meters.
