In China, it has been decided to resume group tourist trips from the mainland to Taiwan. Information about this was published by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China on its WeChat page.
According to the ministry, this measure is aimed at normalizing interaction between the population living on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. In addition, it was adopted due to the demand for tourist trips in this direction.
Travel is currently available only to residents of Shanghai and the eastern province of Fujian, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism emphasized. Group tours from mainland China to Taiwan were discontinued in early 2020, shortly after the outbreak of the new coronavirus pandemic.
