According to the publication, by the end of the year, it is planned to launch a pilot program in the country to create a passive optical network of the 50Gb-PON standard. This will be done in order to expand opportunities for access to broadband Internet.
The network will provide users with an Internet connection with speeds up to 10 GB/s. According to the Ministry of Industry and Informatization of China, residential areas, schools, industrial enterprises and technology parks included in the program will have access to it.
It is planned that the project will allow a technological breakthrough in the field of broadband Internet access, create new industrial applications and a developed production chain. The new standards will focus on services such as cloud storage, gaming, and ultra-high definition video transmission.
