Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on the international community to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria. The world community should respect the national and religious traditions of the country, as well as allow the Syrian people to make independent decisions, he stressed.
Joint efforts should be made to achieve the lifting of illegal unilateral sanctions that have been imposed on Syria for many years, Wang Yi said. Thanks to this, the international community will be able to alleviate the difficult humanitarian situation in this Middle Eastern state, he believes.
According to the politician, the Chinese side pays great attention to the situation in Syria. The Republic pursues a policy of strengthening friendship and cooperation in its regard. Beijing also stands for the early restoration of peace in the Arab Republic, Wang Yi stressed.
