Beijing strongly opposes the fact that the head of the Taiwan administration secretly came to the United States, said a representative of the foreign ministry, commenting on the possible visit of Lai Tsingde to American Hawaii and the island of Guam.
According to Mao Ning, China opposes any form of official contact between Taiwan and the United States and calls on Washington to stop official exchanges with the island and no longer send erroneous signals to Taipei.
The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also recalled that the United States should approach the Taiwan issue with double caution. Earlier it became known that the head of the Taiwan administration, Lai Qingde, plans to visit states that maintain official contacts with the island.
