The EU uses double standards, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a briefing.

According to the diplomat, the European Union resorts to double standards by imposing sanctions against Chinese companies for cooperation with Russian enterprises. Staff exchanges and cooperation between Russian and Chinese companies are not directed against anyone, Mao Ning said.

She also noted that Beijing has always opposed unilateral sanctions that are not based on international law and are not authorized by the UN Security Council. As for the Ukrainian issue, China has always made efforts for peace and negotiations, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled.

According to the politician, during the conflict, the Chinese side never supplied weapons to either Russia or Ukraine. Beijing strictly controls dual-use goods, including civilian drones, Mao Ning stressed.
