This will have a positive impact on economic ties and tourism, she believes.
The head of the Investment Development Agency recalled that such a flight had already been in Soviet times, and this contributed to the development of the tourism potential of both sides. She noted that both Kazan and Urumqi (the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China) are regions attractive to travelers.
In September 2024, direct flights between the capital of Tatarstan and Shanghai were launched. Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Kazan Xiang Bo noted that the opening of this flight was an important incentive for expanding cooperation between the parties.
