Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed to start implementing a plan for a joint project with China for the development of Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island. The instruction was given following the results of the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum.
As follows from the text of the document, the government of the Russian Federation, together with the leadership of the Khabarovsk Territory, should approve a roadmap for the development of Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island, located on the Amur, together with the People's Republic of China. The implementation of the plan should begin in 2025.
The event should provide for the creation of transport and border infrastructure on the island, including an access road, an embankment platform and a checkpoint across the Russian-Chinese state border. The report on the execution of the order must be submitted by April 15, 2025.
