The Harmony of Five exhibition of traditional Chinese instruments starts in St. Petersburg

The exhibition is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia and the Years of cross-cultural exchanges between the two countries. It will be held at the Sheremetyevo Palace — Museum of Music.

The exhibition will feature ancient and modern Chinese instruments. For example, visitors will be shown yun, a bronze bell capable of sounding two tones when struck, and yuqing, a jade plate that emits a certain sound when struck, the press service of the Museum of Theatrical and Musical Art reports.

A decorative woven silk panel of the XVIII century depicting the traditional Chinese story "One Hundred Boys" will be presented from the collection of the St. Petersburg museum. The exhibition is organized by the St. Petersburg Museum in cooperation with the Museum of Hubei Province (China). It will last until March 16, 2025.
