According to the Central Commission, the deputy mayor of Beijing, Gao Peng, used power for selfish purposes. For remuneration, he helped in employment, promotion, as well as in business activities and obtaining construction contracts.
In addition, Gao Peng illegally accepted cash gifts and participated in illegal stock trading. The deputy mayor received bribes with sexual services, greedily sought pleasure and pursued vulgar interests, the commission reported.
The official illegally acquired a huge fortune and caused great damage to national interests, the Central Committee emphasizes. Gao Peng was expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and, as a result, from the ranks of members of the party group of the Beijing government.
