The Chinese and Russian sides are constantly working to liberalize the conditions for mutual travel of citizens of the two countries, Zakharova noted. Since 2013, an Agreement on facilitating the travel of citizens has been in force, which provides for a simplified procedure for issuing visas.
Since August 2023, Chinese citizens can use a single electronic visa, which gives them the right to stay in Russia for up to 16 days, the diplomat recalled. China is also included in the list of countries whose citizens are issued a tourist visa for up to six months under simplified conditions.
Visa-free group tourist trips are very popular among the citizens of China, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation notes. At the moment, the possibility of reducing the minimum composition of such a group to three people and increasing the period of visa-free stay in the territory of the host state to 21 days is being worked out, she said.
