The Russian Language Center was opened at Shandong University in cooperation with the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University (Herzen State Pedagogical University). Previously, such centers were established in Laos, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
The secretary of the party committee of Shandong Pedagogical University, Feng Jikang, stressed the importance of cooperation with the Russian university at the opening ceremony. The center will perform tasks such as open teaching courses, teaching the Russian language and conducting events on language and cultural exchange, he noted.
The Faculty of Russian Language at the University was opened in 1956. Currently, the university has established friendly relations and cooperation with six higher education institutions from Russia, Feng Jikang said. The secretary of the party committee also added that the creation of this center will give impetus to the development of friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two universities.
