This was stated by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a meeting of high representatives of the BRICS countries in charge of security issues.
According to the politician, BRICS is a priority area of China's foreign policy. Wang Yi also stressed that China supports the Russian presidency. Beijing has made efforts to further consolidate the BRICS countries, the Foreign Minister noted.
BRICS is an interstate association of the Federal Republic of Brazil, the Russian Federation, the Republic of India, the People's Republic of China and (since December 2010) the Republic of South Africa, founded in 2006. This year, Russia is chairing the association.
