The launch of the Yaogan-43-01 group of remote sensing satellites was carried out on August 16 from the Xichang cosmodrome (southwestern Sichuan Province) using a CZ-4B rocket (Changzheng-4-bi), according to the Chinese Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
The CZ-4B, for which this is the 531st launch, is a three-stage liquid-fuel rocket of a new generation. It is capable of putting up to 2.5 tons of cargo into a sun-synchronous orbit. The length of the rocket is approximately 47 m, the diameter of the fairing is 3.8 m.
Currently, China is actively developing a national space program. Specialists are developing meteorological, telecommunication and navigation satellites and technologies designed to explore the Moon. They are also implementing asteroid and Mars exploration projects with the support of the state.
