According to Yemelyanov, the National Center for Performing Arts of China and the National Drama Theater of Russia (Alexandrinsky Theater) will create a joint production based on the work of A. P. Chekhov.
The trip to China will mark a new serious round of cooperation on the dramatic line with the National Center for Performing Arts, the head of Alexandrinka stressed. A Russian-Chinese agreement on the creation of a new performance will be signed within the framework of the cultural forum in September.
The premiere of the play based on Chekhov's work will take place in Beijing in September 2025 and will be timed to coincide with the anniversary of the birth of the Russian writer. Yemelyanov also said that many Chinese theater venues express interest in cooperation with the National Drama Theater of Russia.
