In an interview with the Izvestia newspaper, Chinese Ambassador to Moscow Zhang Hanhui noted that negotiations are currently underway on cooperation between the Russian Federation and China on the Russian Mir payment system.
Financial institutions of the two countries are exploring the possibility of cooperation in this area. According to the ambassador, more than 12 million tourists came to China in the first six months of 2024. The conclusion on further optimization of payment services to improve the convenience of payment will help attract even more travelers to the country.
Zhang Hanhui also stressed that the Chinese banking system allows linking foreign bank cards to Chinese payment platforms. In addition, it provides an opportunity to actively use more foreign electronic wallets.
