About 2.5 billion yuan ($343.8 million) will be spent on the construction of a new amusement park with an area of over 21 thousand square meters, according to the park operator. The project involves the construction of six entertainment facilities, the company said.
The entertainment area began its work in June 2016, and since then the expansion has already been carried out twice. Currently, the park has eight themed areas, including "Adventure Island", "Country of the Future", "Toy Story" and "Mickey Avenue".
In 2023, about 25.6 million people visited Disneyland in Shanghai, and the park's revenue amounted to 18.5 billion yuan (2.5 billion dollars). According to experts, income from the entertainment area has increased by more than 80% compared to 2019. Recall that Shanghai Disneyland is an American-Chinese project based on the ideas of local and Western designers.
