According to the politician, the international community should join efforts to strengthen the role of developing countries in addressing global governance issues. The statement was made at a conference in Beijing on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the five principles of peaceful coexistence.
Wang Yi called for further expansion of the representation and voice of developing countries, guided by the principles of honesty and fairness. China plans to adhere to "genuine multilateralism" and also defend the authority of the UN, the diplomat stressed.
Beijing intends to resolve key international issues taking into account national specifics, as well as play a constructive role in maintaining peace and security, the Chinese Foreign Minister said. He also noted that China stands for comprehensive economic globalization.
