This was announced by New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Lacson at a meeting with journalists.

This will be the first visit of a high-ranking representative of the Chinese government to New Zealand since 2017, Christopher Lacson said. According to him, it is very important for the state to interact with China, as well as to resolve issues constructively in case of disagreements.

According to the New Zealand Prime Minister, Beijing is Wellington's largest economic partner. The volume of bilateral trade with the republic exceeds 38 billion New Zealand dollars. Christopher Lacson expressed hope that New Zealand's trade relations with China will strengthen, and the volume of exports to China will grow.

The Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China may also visit Canberra, but there is no official confirmation of this yet. The meeting between Li Qiang and Christopher Lacson will take place as part of the annual bilateral talks between the leaders of the two countries. Last year it was held in Beijing.
