Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed Russian-Chinese relations by phone with Yang Jiechi, a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, who arrived in Russia on a working visit, the Kremlin press service reports."The issues of further development of Russian-Chinese relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation were discussed. The important role of the treaty on good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China, the 20th anniversary of which is celebrated this year, was emphasized," the message reads.
"Vladimir Putin received an oral message from the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, confirming the course of strengthening bilateral ties in every possible way. The Russian President spoke in the same spirit and asked Yang Jiechi to convey friendly greetings and best wishes to the President of the People's Republic of China. The leaders will remain in close contact with each other," the statement said.
In addition, during the conversation, some topical issues of the international agenda were also touched upon.
