Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to China on May 16-17

Vladimir Putin will visit China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Kremlin's press service reports. This will be the first foreign trip of the President of Russia after taking office.

During the visit, Vladimir Putin will visit two cities – Beijing and Harbin. In Harbin, he will take part in the opening ceremony of the eighth Russian-Chinese EXPO and the fourth Russian-Chinese Forum on Interregional Cooperation. In addition, the head of the Russian Federation will meet with students and teachers of Harbin Polytechnic University.

The visit to China will last two days – from May 16 to 17, the Kremlin's press service reports. It also became known that Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will take part in a gala evening on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the opening of the Years of Culture of Russia and China.
