Taiwan's ex-leader Ma Ying-jeou visits mainland China


This was announced by the politician himself before departure at Taoyuan International Airport.

Ma Ying-jeou called his trip a "peace visit." On the air of TVBS, he noted that he hopes that the two banks will communicate and will be able to hear the call of the heart about the need to avoid war.

Ma Ying-jeou noted that he has not held any official or party positions for eight years. He served as the head of the Taiwan administration from 2008 to 2016. According to him, it is now important to strengthen humanitarian exchange between the youth of mainland China and Taiwan.

Ma Ying-jeou's visit to China will last from April 1 to April 11. During the trip, he will visit Guangdong and Shaanxi provinces, and will arrive in Beijing on April 8. According to the Taiwanese portal Fengchuanmei, a meeting between the representative of Taiwan and Chinese President Xi Jinping will take place on the same day.
