This was stated at a briefing by Chen Xinhua, representative of the Office for Taiwan Affairs at the State Council of the People's Republic of China. Commenting on the absence of wording in the Government's annual report on the peaceful reunification of the mainland and the island, he noted that China will take all necessary measures to resolve this issue.
According to him, the main course of the PRC is the principle of "one country– two systems". This is the best way to achieve reunification with Taiwan, but at the same time, China in no case promises to renounce the use of force, Chen Binhua stressed.
The current situation in the Taiwan Strait is complex and serious, the politician said. Beijing's approach is aimed at countering the interference of external forces and a very small number of "Taiwanese separatists."
