This was stated at a briefing by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin.

The statement was made in response to a request to comment on the concerns of other countries amid the growing number of cases of acute respiratory infections in China. Foreigners should not worry about traveling to China, Wang Wenbin believes. It is absolutely safe to travel and do business in the country, he stressed.

Earlier it became known that the number of cases of acute respiratory infections in China will continue to grow in the near future. According to Mi Feng, a representative of the State Committee for Hygiene and Health of the People's Republic of China, the disease is most often caused by the flu virus.

On November 22, WHO requested additional information from China on the increase in cases of acute respiratory infections in children. In particular, the organization was interested in information about trends in the circulation of influenza, SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, respiratory syncytial virus and mycoplasma pneumonia.
