The Chinese authorities called false and slanderous the statement of the Canadian department that bots associated with China were preparing attacks on Canadian politicians and sought to discredit them. Mao Ning said that such statements mislead public opinion.
The Chinese side expresses strong dissatisfaction and categorical protest, the representative of the Foreign Ministry stressed. According to the politician, recently Ottawa has repeatedly tried to spread false information that Beijing is allegedly acting against Canadian politicians. However, she has never provided any evidence.
Mao Ning demanded to stop spreading lies about China and "poisoning the atmosphere of Sino-Canadian relations by undermining them with her statements and actions."
