The tourist flow between Russia and China may exceed the pre-pandemic level next year.

This was announced to journalists by the president of the Russian Union of Tourism Industry (PCT) Ilya Umansky on the sidelines of the forum of regions of Russia "Development of tourist infrastructure".
"Now all the obstacles have been removed, and I think that against the background of these changes, we have every chance that the tourist flow will grow significantly and could exceed 2019. Maybe not now, but next year, I think so," he said.
Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation reported that the mutual tourist flow of Russia and China in 2023 will be about 500 thousand people. In the pre-2019 year, the mutual tourist flow reached 4 million people - about 2 million people from each side.
The first group of tourists from China arrived in Russia under the agreement on group visa-free exchange on August 10, 2023. The document assumes that organized tourists in a group of 5 to 50 people can visit a neighboring country without obtaining a visa and stay there for up to 15 days, writes TASS.
