The export of passenger cars from China to Russia in January - August increased by 6.3 times

In January - August, Chinese suppliers increased exports of passenger cars to Russia by 6.3 times compared to the same period last year, to more than 482 thousand units.

This is evidenced by the data of the Main Customs Administration (GTU) of the People's Republic of China.
According to published statistics, in value terms, deliveries increased by 8.7 times, to $6.76 billion.
As in previous months, China continues to demonstrate record dynamics of exports to Russia. In terms of purchases of Chinese cars and their components, Russia ranks first in the world, accounting for about 14% of their foreign sales by Chinese companies during this period of time. Belgium is in second place, followed by the United Kingdom, Australia and Spain.
It also follows from the agency's data that in August, the volume of deliveries of passenger cars from China to the Russian Federation decreased by 3.1% compared to July, to 77.1 thousand units, and in value, on the contrary, increased by 4.1%, to $ 1.1 billion.
According to GTU estimates, in 2022 China exported 153.2 thousand passenger cars worth $1.68 billion to Russia. This is three times more than the number of vehicles imported from China and Russia in the pre-pandemic 2019. The cost of supplies has increased by more than 3.8 times, writes TASS.
