This was stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping in a telephone conversation with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
He noted that China is ready to deepen cooperation with Uzbekistan in trade and investment. In addition, the Chinese authorities plan to expand cooperation in such areas as education, culture, tourism and sports, as well as at the local level, and continue to develop cooperation in the field of vaccination.
China is also ready to share its experience in poverty reduction with Uzbekistan and jointly explore the possibility of establishing a cooperation mechanism for poverty reduction
Xi said the two countries should strengthen law enforcement cooperation to jointly maintain security and stability.
Xi said that since last year, China-Uzbekistan relations have withstood the test of the COVID-19 epidemic, and the two sides have maintained close coordination in international and regional affairs and effectively defended their common interests.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that under the wise leadership of Xi Jinping, China has made remarkable progress in economic and social development.
He agreed with the Chinese leader that the international community should join forces to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, and that countries should treat each other with mutual respect and equality.
"The Uzbek side considers China as its most important and reliable strategic partner for cooperation," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
He added that his country fully supports China in successfully hosting the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing in 2022 and is ready to strengthen coordination with China in regional affairs, including with regard to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
