The archaeological site of Taosa consists of a settlement and a burial ground of 4500-3900 years old. It is located in the village of the same name in Xiangfen County, Linfen City, Shanxi Province. In the course of large-scale excavations that began in 1978, painted ceramic dishes, jasper products and other priceless relics were found there.
According to some Chinese scientists, the Taos settlement is associated with Pingyang, the capital of the reign of the legendary Chinese Emperor Yao.
The construction of the museum on an area of 12 hectares will cost 675 million yuan. Exhibition pavilion with an area of 9,998 sq. m. The museum will be used for displaying cultural relics, storing collections and conducting scientific experiments.
It should be noted that Taos is considered one of the most important archaeological sites for the study of the origins of Chinese civilization, the official representative of the Xiangfen County Party Committee Li Zhiwei shared. According to him, visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the results of archaeological excavations and research that lasted more than 40 years, as well as learn about the origin and development of the Chinese nation in the distant past, Xinhua News writes.
