Tibet has retained the status of one of the most environmentally friendly regions in the world

Tibet remains one of the most prosperous regions from an ecological point of view – these are the data for 2020.

The report on the ecological situation in the region was published by the Tibet Autonomous Region.
Last year, 99.5% of days with good air were observed in the region. The cleanest air was recorded in the area of Mount Jomolungma. At the same time, the most environmentally friendly days fell on the city of Lhasa, the administrative center of the Tibetan Autonomous Republic.
It should be noted that in recent years Tibet has intensified efforts to protect local biodiversity, promote sustainable development and improve the biodiversity monitoring network.
