This was reported on Thursday in a press release of the Singapore Defense Ministry.
""In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding, both defense departments [of China and Singapore] will work on the creation of a secure telephone connection on security issues for high-level communication between the heads of our defense departments. Such open communication lines at a high level are important for strengthening mutual understanding and trust," the Ministry of Defense of Singapore said in a statement.
The Shangri-La Dialogue International Security Forum will be held on June 2-4 in Singapore. The site, organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, will be visited by senior defense officials from more than 40 countries, including the United States, China, Great Britain, Australia and Japan, writes TASS.
