Russia and China have extended the program of accelerated examination of applications for inventions

izbrtnjRospatent and the Chinese Patent Office have extended the program of accelerated examination of applications for inventions.

This was reported to TASS by the press service of the Russian department.
"In Beijing, following the results of the Russian-Chinese negotiations, a package of documents was signed, which included a joint statement of intent to extend the pilot program "Accelerated Patent Filing" between the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Russian Federation) and the State Administration of China for Intellectual Property (CNIPA)," the message says.
The document was signed by the head of Rospatent Yuri Zubov and CNIPA Commissioner Shen Changyu. It establishes the indefinite validity of the program between the two departments starting from July 1, 2023.
"The program is of great value for applicants of the two countries, as it allows speeding up the procedure for issuing a patent for an invention without compromising the quality of expertise and while reducing costs on the part of the copyright holder. Its extension testifies to the stable mutual interest in the technological markets of the two countries," said the head of Rospatent, Yuri Zubov, whose words are quoted in the message.
The press service explained that the cooperation of patent offices within the framework of this program began in 2009 and currently has 55 patent offices, including Rospatent and CNIPA.
The Accelerated Patent Office Management program is based on the international division of labor - the results of patent search and examination conducted in one office are used by others when considering the relevant application.
The advantages of the program are the possibility of quickly obtaining a patent abroad, reducing labor costs in patent offices during the examination of relevant applications, improving the quality of examination, economic benefits for the applicant by reducing the number of examination requests. In addition, the applicant is not required to pay an additional fee for participation in the program, writes TASS.
