The first plane carrying 200 tourists from China arrived in Auckland on the same day.

Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand Wang Xiaolong noted that the resumption of air traffic will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations.
"China is by far New Zealand's largest trading partner, and the volume of bilateral trade in 2022 reached a record level of 40 billion New Zealand dollars," he said.
In turn, Director of Customer Relations at Auckland International Airport Scott Tasker said that the resumption of air flights will strengthen ties between China and New Zealand.
According to Air China, currently direct flights between Beijing and Auckland are operated four times a week.
Recall that direct flights between the two cities were suspended for more than three years due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
